Middlesex Centre, Ontario, June 2, 2022 – After more than two years, the Municipality of Middlesex Centre terminated its local State of Emergency for COVID-19 at a meeting of municipality’s emergency control group on June 2, 2022. The State of Emergency had been in place since March 17, 2020.

“Everyone played their part throughout this emergency, and I have been so proud of how local residents, businesses and organizations came together to support one another,” commented Mayor Aina DeViet. “I would like to particularly thank Middlesex Centre staff who stepped up to ensure that road maintenance, water systems, building permitting, and other municipal services were provided throughout this period.”

The municipality will continue to monitor rates of COVID-19 in the community and across Ontario, and take any actions required to ensure the safety of members of the public.
