Presentations

Inspector Ross Stuart, Detachment Commander of Middlesex County OPP provided an overview of the 2023 Policing Summary for Middlesex Centre.

The OPP saw an increase in calls for service in 2023 when compared to 2022, but this increase can be partially attributed to OPP moving to a new electronic system for ticketing.

Of note, Inspector Stuart highlighted the reduction in property crimes in Middlesex Centre, however he alerted to the increase in fraud, particularly as it relates to phone/email scams that target seniors.

The full OPP Summary for 2023 can be found with the council meeting agenda.

A presentation from Community Futures Middlesex planned for the meeting was postponed to a later date.
