In Brief
During the meeting, Council:
- Participated in an education and training session regarding the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act as well as open and closed meetings which was led by the municipal Integrity Commissioner
- Received a report regarding the Enbridge Gas 2024 Rebasing Application for information.
- Received the 2023 by-law enforcement summary for information. Middlesex Centre provides services locally and to Lucan Biddulph under a service agreement. In 2023, there were 255 calls for by-law services in Middlesex Centre, with animal control, property standards, and planning related issues being the most common.
- Received the YMCA surplus report for 2023.
- Approved the purchase of a replacement brush chipper and a new grade control and layout equipment as these items came in above budget.
- Received information on the budget-to-actuals for January 2024, and procurement activities for 2023.
- Received the 2023 Annual Drinking Water System Performance and Summary Reports for the municipal water systems.
- Received a year-end summary of building inspection services provided under service agreements with the municipalities of Lucan Biddulph, North Middlesex, Adelaide Metcalfe, and Southwest Middlesex. In 2023, Middlesex Centre issued a total of 486 building permits with a construction value of $120,280,007.
Planning Matters
Sitting as the Committee of Adjustment and in public meetings, Council heard an application for a minor variance, a consent application and zoning by-law amendment.
Next Council Meeting
The next regularly scheduled Middlesex Centre Council Meeting is set for Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. Please note that council meetings will be held at the Ilderton Community Centre for the duration of the municipal office renovation.
