Canadian Army training in Middlesex Centre

From January 21-22, 2023, Canadian Army Reserve personnel will be conducting winter training in the vicinity of the community of Lobo, Middlesex Centre, Ontario. Activities will include patrolling, land navigation, construction of improvised shelters, small survival fires, and overall survival in a cold weather environment.

The exercise will take place around residential areas and farm land in Middlesex Centre (Lobo area), and will be conducted with the co-operation of local authorities in officially approved locations.

Activities will occur from 7:00 am on January 21, 2023, until 3:00 pm on January 22, 2023, both during daylight and nighttime hours. Members of the public may see military vehicles and personnel participating in the exercise with unloaded weapons. No live ammunition will be present at any time.

This important exercise is being conducted in order to prepare Canadian Army Reserve members to operate and survive in cold weather conditions.

All measures are being taken to ensure minimum inconvenience to those in the area, although certain areas may be inaccessible during the exercise dates. Members of the public are asked to take extra caution when approaching military vehicles and are thanked in advance for their understanding and co-operation.
