The Treasury Division handles all financial matters for the Municipality at the Municipal offices in Coldstream.  The Treasury Department deals with a wide range of functions such as budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax and water/sewer billings.

Taxes

Property taxes are payable four times per year in the Municipality.  The standard due dates in any given year are the last working days of February, May, August and November.  Although we have four payments per year, tax bills are mailed out only twice in February and August, with two installments on each bill.

The first billing of the year is an interim tax bill, which is based on half of the previous year`s taxes.  The second billing is the final bill for the year and is produced after the budget is approved and the Municipality`s expenditures are finalized for the year.

Water/Sewer

Utility meters are read four (4) times a year and billed accordingly.  Meters are read as close to the following dates as possible: March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st.

Payment Options

Tax and Water/Sewer billings can be made in a variety of ways:
-  pay at any authorized financial institution on or before the due date
-  PC/Telephone banking (arrangements to be made through your own financial institution)
-  by mail to: 10227 Ilderton Road, RR#2, Ilderton, Ontario, N0M 2A0
- in person at the Municipal office in Coldstream
-  through pre-authorized payment plan - either month or on due date only (taxes) or due date only (water/sewer).  You will need to obtain an authorization form from the Muncipal office or through "available forms" below.  Monthly payments for taxes must begin in January of each year.
