The Corporate Services department consists of three (3) divisions
Administration Division
The Clerk`s Office maintains the Municipality`s records including by-laws, minutes of meetings, assessment roll, historical and all other information as required by statute or regulation. The Clerk and/or designate conducts the municipal elections and provides for the swearing-in of Councillors and appointed officers. The Office provides for the official notices in regards to land use planning matters and issues certifications as may be required and authorized. The Clerk`s Office issues licences including lottery licences.
The Clerk`s Office prepares Council agendas, coordinating reports and recommendations from the various departments, committees and boards for Council information and decision-making. The Office also provides background reports and advice to Council and implements policies as adopted by Council. Requests for delegation to a Council Meeting is arranged through the Clerk`s Office, and should be requested prior to the Thursday that precedes the Council meeting.
Treasury Division
The Treasury Division handles all financial matters for the Municipality at the Municipal offices in Coldstream. The Treasury Department deals with a wide range of functions such as budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax and water/sewer billings.
Fire & Emergency Services Division
The Primary mission of the Middlesex Centre Fire Department is to provide a range of programs to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants of the Municipality from the adverse effects of fires or exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature.
In accordance with the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act RSO 1990, Chapter E.9, as amended, the Municipality is required to conform to standards promulgated by Emergency Management Ontario in accordance with international best practices, including the four core components of emergency management, namely: mitigation/prevention, preparedness, response and recovery. Middlesex Centre Council has implemented an emergency management program to protect public safety, public healthy, the environment, the critical infrastructure and property, and to promote economic stability and a disaster resilient community.
