Paid Parking coming to Weldon Park

Douglas B. Weldon Park is the municipality’s largest and most visited park. With many of those visiting the park coming from outside of Middlesex Centre, the municipality is adding paid parking to ensure all users contribute to the maintenance and capital costs of the park and its services.

To pay for parking, scan the QR code on the paid parking signs located throughout Weldon Park to access the Honk Mobile app. If you cannot access the app you can book parking from your computer before you leave your home or work.

Middlesex Centre property owners are eligible for free parking passes. Please see the below for information on how to claim your passes.

Using the Honk Parking App

How do I use the Honk Parking App?

Look for the signs in the parking area, which have a QR code. Hold the camera from your phone over the code and follow the steps provided.

Download the app and create your account. You can find the Honk Mobile app in the app store (apple or google play). If you already have the Honk Mobile app from parking elsewhere, you can use it for parking at Weldon Park too – no need to download it again.
Add your license plate and payment method.
Find your parking zone in the app or on the signage in the parking lot.
Select the time you want to park for, confirm your information, and hit pay.
Add more time for anywhere.

What if I don’t have a smartphone? Can I book online?

If you don’t have a smartphone you can pay for your parking in advance at

honkmobile.com/find-parking

You can schedule your parking to start when you arrive and can book your time up to two weeks in advance. Please be sure to pick the lot at 11 St Johns Dr, Arva, ON, ZONE 54326.

Note that an annual pass is available (under "long-term parking" options).

Can I pay once for the year (annual pass)?

Yes. Based on visitor feedback, we have created an annual parking pass for non-residents. It is $100 plus fees and taxes, and will run on a calendar year basis (January to December). Annual passes are applicable when the parking lots are open (they close for the winter).

You can pay for this using the honk app or the online booking above - look under "long-term parking" options.

How does the municipality know I've paid for parking?

Each parking transaction is registered with your licence plate. Parking enforcement officers have a real-time list of compliant plates. You do not need to display anything in your vehicle. Please ensure payment is complete before leaving your vehicle unattended.

Do I have to pay if I have a veteran’s plate?

Middlesex Centre is pleased to offer parking free-of charge at Weldon Park for those displaying a valid veteran licence plate issued by Service Ontario. These are plates with a red poppy and the word “Veteran” underneath.

Property Owner Parking Passes

To request your property owner parking pass, select "How do I get my parking pass?" and then click the "Request Property Owner Parking Pass" button.

Do property owners get to park at no charge?

Yes, but you must register and receive your free parking passes first.

Each property owner may request two free parking passes (two licence plates).

How do I get my parking pass?

To request your property-owner pass, please complete the request form below.

Request Property Owner Parking Pass

You must have a valid email address for each of the passes (two maximum) that you wish to claim.
You must also provide your property roll number (found on your property tax statement).

Once your ownership is confirmed, you will receive an email from Honk Mobile to claim your parking pass. This step may take a few days (48 hours).

After you claim your parking pass, you will be able to park at Weldon Park at no charge (during normal park hours).

Your pass will be active for one year, at which time you will receive an email from Honk Mobile to renew your pass.

Please note that these are digital passes. No physical passes (mirror hangers, window clings, etc.) will be distributed.

I’m a tenant in Middlesex Centre. Do I qualify for a free parking pass?

Only property owners may request parking passes. Please contact your landlord and ask that they register your licence plate (see instructions above).

I have more than two vehicles. Can I get more than two parking passes?

No. Only two parking passes are available for each property.

Can my children or others in my household use the parking passes?

Each property owner is eligible for two parking passes, which are linked to license plates. You may select any two license plates for your property.

Where do I get my pass?

The passes are digital. After you complete the Honk Mobile registration process, your passes will be active. No physical passes (mirror hangers, window clings, etc.) will be distributed. Please follow the instructions above to claim your passes.

Sports Teams, Pavilion Renters & Other Paid Park Users

I’m on a sports team that pays to rent the sports fields at Weldon Park. Do I need to pay for parking?: Associations and teams that rent sports fields for the season will receive a set number of free parking codes that will allow for one free parking space per player per game or practice. Your association or team manager will receive the codes and will be responsible for handing them out to players.
I’ve rented the pavilion or other facility in Weldon Park. Do I need to pay for parking for myself and my guests?: If you have rented the pavilion or other facility in Weldon Park, you will be given a parking code that will allow you and your guests to park for free. It is the responsibility of the event organizer to distribute the promo code.

General Information

What parks have paid parking?

Currently only the D.B. Weldon Park in Arva has paid parking.

What are the parking fees?

The parking fees are $3 per hour or $20 per day during the week, and $5 per hour or $30 per day on the weekends, plus fees and taxes. An annual fee is available for $100, plus fees and taxes. Parking fees will be reviewed each year as part of the fees by-law.

Why do we have paid parking at Weldon Park now?

Douglas B. Weldon Park is the municipality’s largest and most visited park. The site currently has tennis/pickleball courts, a disc golf course, trails, off-leash dog area, pavilion, playgrounds, baseball diamonds and wonderful green space for walks and picnics.

With many of those visiting the park coming from outside of Middlesex Centre, the municipality is adding paid parking to ensure all users contribute to the maintenance and capital costs of the park and its services.

How is the money raised from parking fees used?

The revenue generated from the paid parking goes back into Weldon Park, helping us to maintain park amenities.

Can I park and go to Medway School?

No. As has been the case for many years, students, staff and other visitors to Medway High School are not to park at Weldon Park. Please use the school parking lot.

What if I don’t pay for parking?

Parking without payment or a property-owner pass is illegal.

Middlesex Centre enforces its parking by-laws by issuing tickets to illegally parked vehicles on both public and private property. This type of enforcement is required to maintain legal parking, regulate traffic movement, and ensure public safety.

What if I park on the street and walk in?

You are welcome to park on the street and walk in but be aware that most of the streets around Weldon Park have parking restrictions. If you park illegally, you will be subject to enforcement.

Can I walk or bike into the park for free?

Yes. There is no fee to use the park (other than sport field or pavilion rentals).
